In my current job I am starting a new project and I need to workout a workflow issue. Latest version of FCP. I have footage from a V1U captured to HDD – so we take the M2T and convert in MPEGstream to a QT, then import, I have existing footage from a PD170 and a some other prosumer DV shot in standard.

Any tips to avoid problems? Apparently, my next 5-7 projects will be similar. Plus I am going to shoot more footage on the V1U myself. I have never shot that before – any additional tips? I guess i should ask in the Sony forums as well.

    Thank you for any insight

what’s your delivery medium? are you expected, or are you intending to master to an HD format? proportionately how much of each flavor of footage are you expecting to be combining? what are your edit system’s hardware and software specs? do you have third party I/O hardware?

Delivery medium will vary. 75 percent DVD 25 web. As of now most projects would ideally go out with the HDV settings.
50 percent HDV, 25 DV and 25 anamorphic.

My edit machine is a dual 3gig quad core with 10G of ram.
    no external hardware.

    thanks for any help
