We have a Sony BetacamSP deck here at our studio and we use Final Cut to export programming onto Betas. My question is regarding the audio levels and the best way to judge them. My color bars always peak right under the Red and the program will bounce between 20 and 2 usually. I am just wondering, what is the best way to judge if the audio levels are good? Should the program levels peak the same as the color bars. Should I make adjustments in final cut? Because there deck levels aren’t always consistent

In FC bars goes at -12 while the peaks shouldn’t pass the -6. Those bars in Betacam must be adjusted to 0 Dbs.
