  • New to Mac 3d Plugin Question

    Ok

I am fresh to mac and I have been using zaxswerks plugins for my 3d work. The preview render time on the PC is horrible So What 3d plugin or program on the mac side for PPro or FC, would do simple 3d (letters, logos) that would compare to zaxwerks. I remember seeing a friend on a mac use a 3d program that would preview without rendering…

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is probably not the place to ask this question – an after effects forum or 3d forum MIGHT be better – but you could either continue to use Zaxwerks Invigorator for the Mac, or for a free solution, look at Blender – it’s a fully functioning 3d suite like 3dsMax that allows for true 3d object and text creation. You will face a steep learning curve however – although there are some good tutorials online.

Other than that, there are few ‘easy’ solutions for creating 3d text, although I recall that Pete Wiggins has a ‘cheat’ method using Motion in the video tutorials here.

If you DO find an easy (and animate-able) solution, let me know…

Probably not the cheapest solution out there, but I’ve recently been playing around with Cinema 4D with great results. The learning curve is not a bad either. Following a quick logo tutorial found here on the COW and one or two other quick and easy tutorials found on the web I am able to do some really cool 3D animations.
