I am just reporting this, as it was resolved by what I consider a wacky fix.

Client had MAC Pro, OS-X 10.5.4, FCP 6.0.4, Sony HVR-10MU. Digitizing firewire (no AJA card) using HDV Codec. Had deck control, but could not get any video or audio into system via firewire. Trashed all preferences, disconnected every device on system (no firewire, no USB, other than the HVR-10MU). Rebooted, created new project, still nothing. Even had the luxury of another HVR-10MU VTR and firewire cable (and another system – this VTR and FW cable in question worked on another MAC).

IT guy comes in, shuts down, and yanks out the RAM board risers, and resets the PMU of the MAC Pro motherboard. Lets the system “sit” for 5 minutes. Plugs everything back in, everything starts to work.

    I am still confused.

Bob, can you find out what kind of incense he burned, also, if what kind, if any, offerings were made? White dove or rabbit, perhaps?
