  Which Audio meter should i trust??

  The little audio meter in the bottom right peaks all the time, but when i go into audio editing mode, the master level meter seems to be fine.

  When I go by ear, the things that the little meter freak out on dont seem to be too loud, and the master meter in audio mixing mode agrees with my ear.

  Whats wrong with the little meter? Its a liar?

  Peaking on red all the time is not good. You want to peak out around -6db in FCP.
