Please don’t hate as I have searched the site and I am still confused how to do this. I am sending my 8-bit sequence back to tape. I have 6 channels of audio and some is stereo, some is mono.

How do I assure the tape has mixed audio on both channels? Right now the narrator and talent are on Channel 1 on some clips, sound effects on Channel 2, etc.

    Thanks much.

I’d start with making a copy of your project.
Mixing down audio is not a big deal, just set the pans and levels using the mixer panel under Tools. When you’re done, you will export the sequence to a self-contained movie. I’d put your bars/slate/tone, countdown, and end handles of black into the master sequence so you don’t get all messed up with FCP’s weird edit to tape protocols but that’s just my opinion.
You will reimport the self-contained movie and just play it out to tape.

    bogiesan.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    David,

Wouldn’t doing an audio mixdown in the original project essentially do the same as exporting? I have laid multitrack projects to Beta a bazillion times.

    Have a wonderful day.
