  Changing color space to RGB for web?

  Hi,

  Vegas user here, who has switched to Final Cut Pro. I’m wondering how to change the color space to RGB for web delivery. I’m not sure where in the FCP to do this, or even if I need to do this in FCP, but I’ve searched and I’m not sure exactly how to phrase the question so it’s FCP search friendly.

  Also when rendering for the web, is it better to change the sequence settings to Pro Res before rendering out to Compressor?

  You can change to RGB under the “render” tab in “sequence settings”.

  Rendering in pro res could be advisable if your source footage is dv or hdv. Try it out.

  And why you want to change the color space?
  Choose the most convenient codec and let it to work in his very color space.
  Pictures based in YUV will always make smaller files than those based in RGB.

  If you are putting in your sequence few effects and graphics, you will get a better result when you render in Proress, or any other 10b codec, than in 8b.
