  • HELP!! aspect ratio problems with ae and fcp6

I brought a clip into after effects and had to turn on aspect ratio correction for it to be viewed properly. I then built motion graphics over the clip and deleted the clip. I then exported the movie and imported it into fcp6 on top of the same footage i pulled the initial clip from. The after effects movie is squished and does not cover the footage in fcp. It seems like i just need to change something in fcp to stretch the movie to fill the frame. Any Help is greatly appreciated i’m really stuck here since i put so much time into building the graphics which now don’t seem to fit the footage i need them to go over., thanks a lot!

If you’re working in a 16×9 mode, look at the Item Properties>Format of the imported clip and see if Anamorphic is checked. If not, check it and see what happens. I imagine you exported an Animation format movie so you have the alpha channel. Did you use the same frame size as the codec you’re editing with?
