I was given a drive with a film wrapped as a Digital Cinema Package. Is there a way to extract that file for use in FCP?

I am assuming there is not and that I need to request reels as QTs.

    Thanks for any help,
    Christian

Most DCPs are encrypted. Even if it isn’t encrypted, the DCP would be a JPEG-2000 image sequence in the XYZ colorspace. You REALLY don’t want anything to do with this!

If you don’t get the QT files instead, you’ll be in a world of hurt!

That’s exactly the definitive answer I wanted to hear.

    Thanks Russell!
