    Hello,

I’m unsure of the settings I need to use to import some footage and output it for broadcast.

The footage I’m importing is 16:9 HDCam downrez to DVCPro50. I used the sequence preset of DV50 NTSC Anamorphic. The footage looks correct in the canvas with that setting, but when I export a 720×480 QT for broadcast purposes it squeezes it horizontally. Even when I check the “preserve aspect ratio using letterbox” box it doesn’t seem to exactly match up. I just want the footage to look as intended with the top and bottom of frame to be the appropriate amount of letterbox.

Can somebody help me with the workflow in this situation?

    Thanks!!!

If I understand correctly you want a letterboxed 4:3 version of your 16:9 sequence?
Then create a DV50 NTSC sequence that is not anamorphic and drag the other sequence into it, straight from the browser.
