Audio Sync Problems
I am experiencing an unusual problem with Final Cut Pro 6 audio. For some unknown reason, several of my audio files get corrupt and out of sync. Let’s say I have 10 second clip of audio and video. The clip starts to play correctly and then after a second or two, the audio repeats to the start of the clip and plays out of sync with remainder of the video clip. If I reconnect the media it fixes the problem but there is no way to visually tell if this is occurring because there is no indication that anything is wrong until you see arrant lip flap. This is troubling, especially in voice over segments where you can’t see lip-flap. It happens with music, audio/video and v/o clips. You have to listen again and again to every segment to make sure it’s right. A real time waster!
I recently use the Media Tool to condense all 13 episodes of a half hour program and I am finding scores of miss-match and out of sync audio bites that need relinking. And its not just condensed projects either. It has happened on projects that never were converted. Just started the computer and started working only to find several parts of my project audio totally messed up. This was never a problem with my Avid.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I’m on a New Mac Pro/Leopard – FCP 6.0.3.
