  export settings?

  Hey guys, I know there is a ton of posts on this topic, but with so much info,
  I’m having trouble determining what works for my project. I shot a short documentary
  and now need to put it to DVD for film festival submissions. Here are my specs

  Camera:
  -Cannon XL-A1 / Cannon HV-30
  -shot in both HDV and 16:9 SD on the A1 and HDV for the cannon HV-30
  -24f

  Editing
  -Using FCS2 with FCP6
  – timeline 720×480, DV/DVC pro-nt compressor
  – The A1 SD footage was captured using the DVCPRO compressor
  – The HDV footage was captured using the HDV 1080i24 settings
  -24 fps

  What’s the best-way to output this mixed footage
  – Do I need to use compressor, quicktime conversion or make a self contained movie?
  – Do I de-interlace?
  – Do I do any sharpening?
  – And how do I make sure the image fit’s on a variety of flat panel TV’s?

  Make a self contained movie of your DV timeline, open in compressor, and chose a DVD preset there.

  No need to de-interlace – 24p is already progressive. Shouldn’t need any sharpening.

  While in FCP, use the action safe and title safe lines in your viewer. (View>Show Title Safe).
