    Hi,

I’ve got to finish a project by adding some audio to a video clip. Unfortunately I’ll be on the road and away from my edit suite when I get the audio. I basically need to add the audio to a clip ( pro res 422 from digibeta 10 bit uncompressed footage), I’ll need to slip it into sync. And finally export it keeping full pro res quality. iMovie seems to only compress to dv or AIC and the quality isn’t acceptable.

Does anyone know of a good freeware/shareware app I could use on my laptop to perform this simple edit while keeping full quality throughout???

    Thanks,

    Johnny

Install FCP on you laptop. The license allows for it to be installed on one tower and one laptop. Just for this reason. When you are mobile.

I tried that but (and I’m not a criminal!) my serial numbers are for upgrades going way back and I’ve lost the original serial (for fcp 5 or so). I know every hackers says that but in my case it’s true!

If you just want to add or change the audio of a clip, you can do it with QT player (Add to Movie). You don’t need even to Export. You may need few tries to get it in perfect sync but can be done. Off course you need QT Pro.

If your original SN is legit, then Apple will give it to you if you registered.

Thanks guys, I’ll contact Apple and keep the QT method as a contingency plan.

    QTSync from https://www.qtsync.com/qtsync.php

You can add your audio track and then sync it on the fly. Ought to be dead easy.

Thanks for that, the perfect app… I managed to get FCP onto my laptop so I reckon that covers me!
Thanks to all for the help.
