HI all. Was wondering…when drawing a mask, how to get AE to show you a “preview line” between the current point and your pen tool. In AE 6.5, it was holding down “APPLE+OPTION” as you drew your mask. This would allow you to move your pen tool around, and give you an accurate idea of where your next point would be before you create it. However, this command (APPLE+OPTION) does not work in AE 7. So what does?

    Please help. Thx 😉

I hate to give such a simple response that doesn’t really answer your question, but your next point would be wherever you click the pen tool =/ As far as a preview is concerned, really how helpful is a straight line from your last point to the potential location of your next one?

I’ve gotta agree with Dave as to the usefulness of the preview line.

Besides, if you find that you’ve created your point in the wrong spot, it’s a simple enough task to move it. I usually create a rough mask, then refine it later, by moving/creating points, until I’m happy with the shape.
