Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy floating head effect

    Hi all im new to this forum and to the editing scene so be gentle, The question i have is what is the best way to produce a floating head effect a bit like the one used in the ABBA video i think it was mamma mia. I using Final cut studio 2.

    You shoot the person on a green screen and key their head out using the Color Key.

    Then you would probably need to use one of the garbage mattes with a lot of feathering to cut the bottom of the head off.

    This will require a lot of keyframing if their mouth is moving.

    Stuff like this is best done in compositing applications like After Effects. No clue how good Motion would be for this.
