Flashback
Does anyone know a good technique or what filter effects to use for a flashback?
What are some ways to show that you are beginning a flashback? I know fade might work, or that dream thing where it’s like wavy, but I want something more professional than that.
It is a memory flashback and I also have magic bullet editor plug ins.

The technique is as old as movies. You pick the transition you want to use as part of your editing style and try to keep it consistent.
Every episode of CSI and Cold Case has a flashback transition. Even David Letterman has one. They’re quite different.The transition you use must relate to your storyline and the style of your project’s narrative. Several sequences include color treatments, frame rate changes, or camera techniques or lenses that are specific to the sequence such as an elevated POV or super wide angles.
