I’m trying to capture video using Final Cut Pro with a JVC tape deck. While I am capturing, I hear all of the audio fine through the deck, but when I import the captured file into my project, I only hear the audio from one side of the stereo. What settings can I change so I get all of it? I always capture tapes and both sides of audio come out fine, so this is weird to me. Thanks!

open the fader/sliders/mixer in final cut and play around with the left
and right settings. You might have some “cancelling out” going on.

A Similar thing can happen with those headphone jack to xlr adapters for
microphone’s you can hear the audio clearly on playback and capture
but played in final cut the way it sums audio it cancels it out completely.
you have to pan each channel manually to get it back.
