  • Sequence settings gone amuck.

My sequence settings seem to have totally rebelled. I’m editing proxy files for a red camera, apple pro res 422 HQ, 1024×576, 23.98 frame rate. At some point this morning the sequence settings on some of our sequences somehow (i don’t know how i wasn’t there) got changed to a narrower aspect ratio with a frame rate of 29.97. When i bring these edits into the master sequence with the right settings (which i derived by just hitting yes when it asked me if i wanted to match the sequence settings to the footage specs) not only is the aspect ratio altered but everything is out of sync due to having to conform to a different frame rate. Basically they carry the old (bad) sequence settings into the new sequence with the right settings.

Has anyone ever heard of sequence settings arbitrarily changing themselves after having been set to match the footage specs? I don’t think i ever have.

How can i get these edits into the appropriate sequence settings? I tried manually changeing the sequence settings but it won’t let me adjust the frame rate from 27.97 back to 23.98 and the setting that i need is not one of the presets.

    Thanks.

Every time that has happened it was someone who agreed to the prompt to change the sequence
settings when the first clip was inserted (though some times they won’t admit it)

The only option I see is to re-create each sequence with the proper frame rate and
then copy and paste the clips from the bad sequence to the new proper one.
