  Captured clips are disappearing

  Hello all,

  I am operating a PowerMAC G5 that was brand new in March, 2003, and has been used every day since. New footage is captured onto a 2TB Western Digital external drive attached via FireWire. There are several people who use the MAC, and within the last week, it has happened several times where captured clips have been disappearing. In other words, the clip is captured, and then the user comes in the next day to edit, and the clips in Capture Scratch have changed so that you can’t open them in the Finder, you can’t open them via QuickTime, and you can’t import them or drag them into the Browser in Final Cut. FCP gives me an error message that it is not recognizing the files. Any thoughts / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I had the same thing happen. Hope someone out there can give us a clue. I’m using FCP Studio 2. THANK YOU, Consuelo at Mohair Media
