FCP update 6.0.4
Posted by Julia Hannan on September 18, 2008 at 5:07 pmI recently did the Pro Applications update for FCP, and have found multiple bugs within the Log & Capture tool specifically. Anyone else having any trouble?

September 19, 2008 at 5:56 pmI have basically encountered a lot of problems with the Log and Capture Tool. When I open Log and Capture, it defaults the window really high up on the monitor so that the control tab is hidden above where I can mouse to it. I have found the trick to pulling it down from this unusable location is setting the mouse on the edge of the window and waiting for the 3 line cursor, which allows me to pull the window down. I have also had issues with the Log And Capture window being distorted and missing half of the right side of the pane where the clip/capture settings are located. The more bizarre issue is when I am actually capturing. Whether I capture clips from the Log, or capture just one Clip, it will start capturing the clip at the set in point, but will roll through the outpoint. Usually by about a minute or so, as it varies from clip to clip. What is even more odd is that it doesn’t always do this. Sometimes it captures the clips fine with the set in and outpoints, and other times it ignores the outpoint as I have stated above. This ONLY happened after I did the Pro Apps update to 6.0.4. I was just wondering if anyone else was having issues.

September 19, 2008 at 6:16 pmAS far as the widnow placement issues, hit control-u. That should sort everything back to normal.
AS far as the capture issue, do you have a Kona card?

September 19, 2008 at 6:19 pmControl U. Got it, thanks. It’s kind of annoying that it continually defaults to these odd placements, but oh well. I can live with that.
And I have a Kona Lhe card.

November 21, 2008 at 3:24 pmHi everybody.
Last week I had some problems when modifying existing renders from Color. I realized that when rendering only one clip in Color, Final Cut didn´t refresh the changes, Final Cut showed the previous render. However I “revealed in finder” the media of the clip, and it appeared changed!, I imported the new correct render into Final Cut and the software showed me the previous render again!. I used the Render Manger to delete all the render media files but the problem persisted. Only when closing Final Cut several times, the changes were refreshed.
I thought it was a color problem, but today I have the same problem in a different computer (both 6.0.4), in this case I haven´t used Color. I only was logging my clips and when capturing them they appeared offline, however the media exists in the Capture Scratch folder. I try to reconnect them, but the action has no effect. And I have to close-open-close-open Final Cut to get the clips refreshed.
Could this be a 6.0.4 bug?
Thanks and sorry my poor english.

October 1, 2009 at 3:46 pmHola Juan Luis,
a mi me pasa exactamente lo mismo. Y lo extraño es que hace cuatro días no me pasaba!!!!
has podido solucionar el problema???
Yo trabajo con FCP 7 y Color 1.5.
Mirando por ahí puede que sea algo de permisos o alguna cosa asi (que la verdad yo no entiendo).
Lo dicho, un millón de gracias por todo.
Un saludo

November 16, 2009 at 6:12 pmHola Jesus.
Juan Luis.
