I brought a file into my current project and it’s unrendered and says it will take about 5 hours to render. The clip is around 30 minutes long and I set the data rate and everything to match the rest of the entire sequence. Is there anything else I can do? I extracted the clip from a DVD using MPEG Streamclip and exported it as a quicktime movie. Is there another way I can export it so the clip won’t take so long to render?

If you have to render then you may have missed some settings.
In MPEG Stream Clip be sure that in the export dialog you have make the following selections
    Compression Apple DV/DVCPRO – NTSC
    Quality 100%

Be sure you choose Export to QuickTime and not Export to DV

    Best of luck

Wow thank you so much. That worked perfectly. The only thing I needed to render was the audio and that took about a minute. Thanks again, that was a big help!

You’re quite welcome. You shouldn’t even have to render the audio.
    Check Sound: Uncompressed, Stereo, 48HHz
