capturing issue with a Canon HDV HV30
Hey anyone who can help…
I’ve been successfully capturing footage from my Canon HV30 (NTSC at 24fps) for the past month or so and now somehow, without having changed any settings in FCP, it won’t work anymore. I get different error messages every time I try depending on which settings I choose.
Such as: ‘Unable to initialize capture device’ or ‘To capture HDV source material, both the Capture and Device Control presets must be configured for HDV; otherwise, to capture in another format, both must not be configured for HDV.’
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!

My guess is that your menu setting for playback standard is not set to HDV which it may have to be. At least this is true for it’s big brother, the A1. That’s what I’d check first.

HI, everybody!
I try to capture footage from Canon HDV HV 30 to FCP 6.6. Footage was shot in HD 24p camera set up. Whatever settings I try – nothing works, including what recommended in previous messages and other forums (i spend all day researching). I got the same error message – “Device control is not connected or capture preset is not set up correctly”.
Camera is connected – Mac recognized it, also when I do set up on DV NTSC – capture windows opens and it captures but – not in HD, 16:9, 24pPlease, help me – whoever captured succesfully in this type of case – let me know what exact audio/video settings I should use
