    Okay, so

I am running fcp 6. If that even matters.

I have about…oh, 15 hours of real media content that a professor wants on a DVD. Other than screencapturing it with SnapZpro, what are my options. I’d love to not have to do this in real time.

I also have access to a sony vegas video suite as well….

    Ben,

See if MpegStreamclip supports Real, not sure. It is a great conversion app, and it’s free!

    Have a wonderful day.

Just did some follow up checking, Streamclip does not seem to support Real, but Episode Pro does. With it, you could convert to an FCP friendly codec.

    Have a wonderful day.

Real Media files are notorious for not working in anything other then real media player, and for not being able to be converted to any other format.

First check if he has them in any other format.

If he does not then ether do a screen record, or if you can play full screen then you could get a adapter that would convert a video card connection to a RCA or S-Video connection. Then a cable runing from the headphone jack to RCA connections. Plug them all into a set top DVD recorder and record the DVD that way.

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity!
