    Hi

Can someone direct me to a PODCAST or a commercial DVD tutorial on how to isolate one object in color while the rest of the scene is black & white ?

I’m guessing it is called the Isolated Color Effect. I have just bought CS2 and want to learn how to do this effect.

If there are other objects with the same color you mught have to throw in some junk masks.

    Hi Mike
Thanks for this info….what I wanted was a tutorial on active video clips where one item has color and the rest is B & W.

I know there are several tutorials out there, it is finding where they are is the trick.

    Thanks
    Dick

You can accomplish this with any kind of matte to hold out the object you want in color. The trouble is you need to be able to generate the matte accurately and predictably, which in most cases is not entirely possible. Different techniques will work better for different video clips. It will depend entirely on the clip you’re trying to work with, and you’ll probably end up needing to do some roto work to have something acceptable.
