So Im trying to edit a short video in FCP 6.0.4 that was half shot on in 720p (canon SDwhatever point and shoot still cam) and half in 1080i MP4(Sanyo Xacti HD1010).
My first problem which I assume must be solved first is frame skipping in any play back of the 1080i. After adding the codec to the QT library, frames are always skipped in playback.
How do I get the frame skipping to stop first and foremost and how can I edit these clips together?
Convert both to one I assume but how and without distortion or massive quality loss?

    Hi Sam,
In which format you intend to deliver your film?

    Hi Sam,
I think that the MP4 will give you a lot of trouble inside FC.
I think you should convert it.
You can convert to NTSC SD, because your final product will be this size, or you can convert to 720p to match the rest of the footage.
I would recommend you to convert to DV50, 8b Unc or ProRes.
