Interlace confusion!
I’m rendering out some PAL m2vs for a SD DVD5 and am a little confused about interlace.
My source material is 60% DVcam, 40% prores HQ (studio greenscreen)
The final m2vs will be made from DV and prores sequences in FCP 602.
Firstly, can I make the m2vs from either flavour sequence (dv>even fields, whereas proresPAL will be odd) What’s DVDSP expecting or perhaps it doesnn’t matter?
Secondly the prores sequences will have a lot of the DVcam material slomoed in the background of the green screen. I guess the sequences will need to upper field first and when I bring the DVcam material into thess seqences FCP adds a -1 field shift filter. But what’s the workflow for the slomos? Should I slomo before insertion into the preores sequence or in the sequence?
Any guidance or help would be gratefully received here.
I will get a chance to view on a broadcast monitor just before exporting the m2vs, but I’m working offline overwise (15 inch MBP) and obviously would prefer not to have too many interlace issues to resolve when I finally do get to preview properly.
Kindest regards.
