  compressor PAL-NTSC conversion

  Ok so it’s a tight deadline and I need to create an NTSC MPEG2 from a PAL DVCPRO50 QT that will be married back with audio and burnt as a single layer DVD at a remote location in the USA (we are in australia)

  My question is in compressor do i first need to do a standards conversion pass followed by an MPEG2 pass or is there a way to create a custom setting that handles the PAL/NTSC conversion and the MPEG2 transcode all at the same time?

  It’s not ideal and this job is a bit of an emergency so any shortcuts appreciated.

  There isn’t that all-in-one set up.
  Anyway that kind of workflows are no much recommendable.
  You can not monitor the process.
  Make sure that you get a good NTSC movie, then make the MPG2.
  When making your NTSC, choose a better codec than DVCPro.
  When Compressor have the Frame Control ON, works in 10b, so you can export in 10b Unc or Proress HQ.

  Paul,

  You can do this in one hit in Episode Pro. You’d just put your NTSC movie in and choose a PAL mpeg2 setting.

  I neglected one thing, the settings you want are under Workflow>DVD Authoring, not the Standards Conversions. A little buried.
