    Hi

Shot/editing a seq in HDV 1080i 60, all my MOTION files are the same, looks good in timeline…my render control codec is Apple Pro RES 422…now when I render out the QT movie with the current settings I get this horrible double image on all movements of my FCP keyframed GFX (such as a box moving from left to right and bouncing as it hits the edges of the screen, etc), I guess this is interlacing problem, all my MOTION files have the same issue…

SO, how to eliminate this problem? Have a look at the images…

    Thanks

i cant solve your problem but i will tell you this, PRORES is garbage and its been a nightmare to work with, but then again apple is garbage, so if you want to prevent problems like the ones your having avoid apple in the future.

Anyways, the quick fix is to export progressive, its going to take a quality hit but you shouldnt get any more of those doubled fields. Also burn it and play it on a tv to see if it isnt just interlacing. If its not an interlacing issue, then what you have is a common case of apple rape.

Make sure that the field order of the footage is properly recognized by Motion.
Your project should have the same field order.
Also you need “Fields Rendering” ON, in the Export-Output tab.

Thanks for reply – but all I did in Motion is the text and it’s the same settings as my FCP seq. The actual movement of the boxes (have a look at the web site link above) is all done in FCP with keyframes…the timeline looks great and plays fine – it’s only when I export it as a QT with current settings does it do this field issue…any thoughts?

    Thanks

When things do not works as they should, you have to look for your own way.
Your Motion graphics are rendered as Progressive. Try the “Fields Rendering” option.
