  • KRAMER!!! Well.. anyone can help with multiple LumaMatte Reveals

    Ok… so here’s the problem…

I’d sure like to reveal something using a B/W reveal movie and using another one to reveal something later.

Maybe I’ve just got them ordered wrong?

    Not sure…

Patches comes up first… then 60AMW Presents… but PATCHES comp fades out it seems based on the new reveal movie starting.

I’ll post an example of the movie when it renders… but I don’t have time for that now.

Thanks… sorry if it’s something silly.

    I’ll owe you one.

Just take the 2 reveals and precompose them into another comp. Put a white matte in between to “hold” the alpha and then time reverse the other reveal so that it starts white and fades black.

Then you have a single layer that fades in from black, holds white, then fades out black again. Use this precomp as a track matte for your layer.

    Best,

The problem. I want the patches to stay on. Precomping doesn’t work… putting 60AMW layer above and/or precomping THAT doesn’t work either.

Try soloing the layer you’re having trouble with to see if its a problem caused by another layer or something you’ve overlooked with the layer/track matte itself.

One element that immediately stands out to me as a possible culprit is the time-remap on the luma matte. It looks like the reveal is animated forward, holds and then goes in reverse (hiding instead of revealing?). I’m not sure if I’m reading that right from the still photos…

Well, in my opinion, your confession just shows your total lack of appreciation and respect for the guys that give their time (freely) to help us all with our AE problems.

I can only hope that the cow moderators see fit to ban your IP from these forums.

    It’s possible he was joking…

    Hee

    Absolutely.

“Late night ‘ticked-off’ trying to finish a ‘free-bee’ project for a farewell who-needs-this” kind of attitude — if I offended, sorry (except for Arson XL).

AND — for what it’s worth and so there’s no more confusion… and NO – I’m not a hero worshiper… I love what Andrew’s done for the AE community… and I was perfectly content wallow in my own misery called AE Skill UNTIL I started watching (yes, and buying) Kramer’s stuff.
