  • Linking comps in the render queue

    Hi,
    Here’s a tricky little thing I’ve come across –
I have a sequence made up of about 15 scenes created in after effects. Scene 1 has 5 different cameras. I want to render out each individual camera for various sections (overlapping) of the scene, and then cut them together in premiere. Is there a way identify which camera to render in the render queue (maybe via scripting somehow)? The way I usually do this is – once my comp is complete, I duplicate it 5 times calling each one- render cam1, 2, 3, 4, 5. All is great, now for the problem. Changes come in, and I only want to make changes to my main comp 1x. So, I delete the render cam’s, make adjustments to my main comp, and then duplicate it again – recreating render cam1,2,3,4,5 etc. All is great. Except – Once I delete the render comps, the item in the render queue has been deleted (with the start and stop points and other render settings) I had hoped to just duplicate all 15 render items, and give them updated names. Once the render cams are deleted and recreated, I now need to add each one to the renderqueue, and specify start and stop times all over again. I know it’s a minor thing, I thought maybe someone knew how I can avoid this?

    Thanks,
    Mike
