MAC & PC brightness
I guess my question is by editing on a MAC does it my the final output video brighter or will it view same on a PC since a MAC shows brighter while PC is slightly darker? Or do I need to make the changes using gamma?

Videos are always darker on a PC, you need to adjust the gamma.

thanks by how much gamma is average? I just want it to look normal on most PCs since that is the most used platform.

The only gamma numbers I’m aware of are 1.8 and 2.2, which I believe are for Mac and PC respectively. Perhaps you should just run some tests.

If your video is going to play mostly on a PC you can change the gamma setting on your Mac to PC gamma (2.2). Go to System Preferences/Display/Color/Calibrate and either go throught the whole calibration or if you’re happy with the color, keep hitting continue until you get to the gamma setting, where you have a choice of Mac or PC gamma (1,8 or 2.2) or any custom setting you want.
You can always go back and change it to Mac later. I do 2 calibrations, one for Mac, one for PC, so I can toggle between them.
