  • Canvas “blacked out”… won’t show anything

    Hi all,
I had taken a break in the middle of editing, so I “hid” Final Cut and walked away for about half an hour. The computer’s screen saver had come on, etc. when I got back. But when I brought FCP back to the front, my canvas had gone black. All I could hear was the audio when I played back my timeline. I haven’t been able to get the video to come back since. I quit FCP to see if the issue would disappear, but nope… still no video (and all my video layers are on). I even restarted my computer, and tried toggling and resetting my external video display settings, but to no avail. The only thing I can see on the external video are still frames of where the playhead is when I pause it. Setting it to “All frames” does nothing.

What kind of freaky glitch is this? I’m terribly confused.

Nevermind… somehow, I managed to turn on “show wireframe only” on my canvas. Oops. 😛

‘W’ (the shortcut for this) is an easy key to hit by accident.
I think this issues comes up here at least once a month!
