audio drift with recorded audio
We shot a feature. A few audio scenes were recorded in the wrong format.
Scenes were shot on 24p. Audio was recorded at 24fps pulled down to 25fps and then there was an attempt to get it back to 29.97fps.
I’ve pestered the audio recordist for more information but this is what I’ve gathered.
The audio drifts badly.
Any suggested fix?

Time in video is absolute. If you have a 3 minute video scene and 3 minutes of audio, they will match precisely. if they drift, one or more of the two components are not really 3 minutes long. Your challenge is to figure out which or both is wrong. Then you must figure out how you’re going to change one or both of them to match.
That means changing the frame rate, changing the speed, or both, or variations of both on either or both tracks. If you change the speed, you may need to change the frame rate. If you change the frame rate, you may or may not need to change the speed.
You will want the original media.
