  FCP Exporting SD to high quality DVD

  Can anyone help me here? Hi-res jpegs, plus the opening sequence (various files, psd, jpegs) are really artifacting, even after exporting and building a DVD in Compressor. The sequences at the beginning of the movie were animated in FCP with key frames. Is that why? How do I get jpegs and other “still” elements to look as good as the standard def video in the piece? Must I take those questionable sequences and create in Motion?

  Nope!

  Look as good as what type of SD video?

  There are many, many flavors of SD video, but there’s no mention whatsoever in your post of your timeline settings. Before anyone can give you an educated answer we always have to know the facts.

  Thanks for the response. SD MiniDV video shot with an XL1. Timeline settings? Perhaps I will check the manual to make sure they are right? Also, IN FCP, tried to animate the hi-res still images. Some motion key framing, and it seems that is causing most of the artifacting.
