So I have footage shot from the JVC HD 100 on miniDV tapes at 720p/24. I am using the SONY HVR-M10U deck via firewire to capture into my FCP 6.0.3. However, after adjusting all the different settings within the deck that you possibly can, I still get the “Change to Correct Tape Format” sign on the deck’s LCD, and no picture or audio is coming through.Anybody help???

    Thanks,

If it’s like my Canon A1 using odd frame rates, no Sony deck can play them.

    Have a wonderful day.

The M10U won’t play back video shot at 24fps.

I don’t think that you can play HDV tapes from a JVC camera in a Sony deck. JVC & Sony have very different implementations of this format.
