I have a load of short clips within one sequence that need to be nested and then batch exported. When I nest each clip, the nested sequence appears in the Project Bin, in the same bin that the master sequence is in.
I was wondering whether it was possible to specify which bin the nested sequences appear in without having to move them manually. i.e. the bin containing my master sequences is called ‘Complete Groups‘ and I would prefer if the nests would automatically move into my folder called ‘Individual Clips‘. Does that make sense?

I’ve tried setting my logging bin to the relevant folder but that has no effect, and I can’t think of any other way that could work. Is it possible?

If there is, I’ve never been able to find it. Nests always appear in the same bin as the original element. So what I do is just go ahead and make all the nests I’m going to make at that time, then move them all at once.

I thought so. It would be a handy little feature though. Thanks for the speedy response.

Yes it would. I don’t think enough people really understand and use Nests as much as they should or we might see more people asking for something like this. We use nests in every single project and they’re just incredibly handy.

Of course there’s about 100 “handy little features” I’d like to see implemented in FCP…..

Yar, but I’ve got a list of at least 100 big and little things I’d like to see FIXED!
