I’m attempting to capture footage shot on an XH-A1 at 24f on FCP 5.1.4 using the offlineRT HD jpeg capture setting but i can’t get it to work.

I continue to get conflicts with capture and device control presets. Error message says I need to configure both to HDV but if I do that it captures at HD resolution and not the offline Jpeg format.

What does the capture preset need to be and which setting for the device control?

    I’m using an HV20 for a deck.

    Any help would be fantastic..thanks

    Mark,

I have an A1, it has to be set to HDV playback standard to capture anything, the HV20 is probably the same. Default is Auto.

From there, not sure how or why to capture to offline jpeg, I’d just do native HDV in a ProRes timeline if disk space or speed is an issue, otherwise I’d capture to ProRes.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Hey Chris,

I’m using FCP 5.1.4 and I thought that the proRes codec was only featured in the new studio 2 version. Am i wrong?

If this is not an option what can i do with 5.1.4?

Hv20 is set to HDV playback.

    thanks again
