  using a compression filter

  Hi-

  I’m making a music dvd that alternates between band performances and interviews. I’d like to bring up/even out the audio level of the interviews using a compressor filter. Is there a way to apply a filter like this to an entire audio track of separate clips? I realize I could put it all in a sequence (nest all the different clips) and do it that way but it seems like that method is better left to the end of the editing process… or am I missing something? I’m used to Pro Tools where you can just put a plugin on an entire track. Something similiar in FCP? Thanks for your help

  You can add the filter to one clip set it up then copy the audio clip and highlight all the other clips and pasted attributes > filters and it will be applied to all.

  The other way would be to export the track to a solid aiff and then bring that back in, disable the originals.
