  NTSC to PAL Audio aspects

  Hi,
  I’ve read through many posts about converting footage from NTSC to PAL, and the various issues involved. What I’m looking for, is what people do when they have audio as well! We recently have been asked to produce stuff for NTSC, then make a version for PAL. Any way I look at it, the audio has to go from 30 fps to 25fps, and so it would sound slow. What do you do when you have sound with footage that needs to go to PAL? What does a standards converter do to the audio? I’d love to here any suggestions (short of rerecord the track etc at 25 – LOL)

  If anyone has more information on audio between NTSC and PAL I’d love to hear it. I was doing some sync work for a series of concerts that were being recorded in the US, sent to Britain for mastering and then sent back to the states to be synced to the video footage and we frequently faced strange sync issues. I don’t know whether this was a PAL/NTSC issue or user error at some stage.

  The problem has disappeared since they stopped using DA-88s as the deliverable and started sending us .AIFFs on DVDs. Takes all the hassle out of capturing too!
