    Hi All,

I have a BIIIIG question, ok, not that big, but it’d be a BIIIG help if anyone has a suggestion or two.

I’ve built a 7 minute corporate video. It’s divided up into 4 sections, each created in AE. There is mostly stills and text overlays that have been created in photoshop and then mostly brought into AE as Tiff files with an alpha channel.

With those 4 sections, I’ve outputted from AE using the Uncompressed 10-bit compressor setting. I also tried outputting with an Animation compressor, and putting it all on a timeline with the same compressor in FCP. That looks great playing out of FCP but the text overlays become very distorted when playing on a 16:9 HD Capable TV set. The CV is in 4:3, but they don’t mind the bars on the side. The DVD is burned on a regular dvd, not BluRay or any kind of HD DVD.

I’m getting complaints that the overlays are not up to par on the quality level when viewed on the HD TV set. When I look at them on an SD Monitor they look great.

Soooo short of burning to BluRay, does anyone have any ideas/solutions to improve the quality of the piece with regards to the final product.

    Thanks in advance!

    Scott

Is this an HD project? Or and SD one?

Because if it’s 480 then it won’t look good on an HD TV.

Also, are you doing anything in FCP other than butting the 4 pieces together? Because if you go out of AE using Animation, pretty much the best quality you can get, and bring those 4 pieces into DVD SP, you can put them together there.

You could also try adjusting your final compression settings.

How are you getting to DVD?

    Scotty,

All the stuff about it being a corporate video with four sections etc is extraneous and dilutes your message, making it difficult and time-consuming to locate your pertinent points.

Meanwhile, what is necessary and is totally missing is the critical information needed to help you such as, what timeline setting did you use?
