  Creating Batch Lists

  I’m trying to find out what the best way is to create a batch list for FCP.
  My intention is to be able to use a program such as Excel on a laptop during a shoot to log clips, then import the log into FCP as a batch list to save having to re-type everything in the Log and Capture window.

  From reading various posts on this and other forums I gather that this is possible, but haven’t been able to find a clear-cut answer as to how exactly to do it. Can someone help?

  The easiest way to create a batch list is to export one from FCP then open it excel. You can then delete all the columns you don’t need and keep the ones you do. You then log all of your clips, then save it as a tab delimited text file. Open FCP and choose import, batch list.

  It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
