I posted this in Trapcode forum and am getting no response. Hoping someone here might be able to help.

I’m wondering if there is a way to combine AE trackers with Particular or 3D Stroke or a similar effect to “flow” something “organic looking” between two moving track points on the screen.

    Thanks very much

I would try playing with the beam effect. You can set the beginning and end of the beam to x,y coordinates (which can be linked to a tracker with expressions). then apply some other effects to the beam for the look you want.

I don’t have Trapcode but I’m assuming 3D stroke will jump onto a mask. You can control mask vertices (2 point easy-peasy) with Da Script:

It was written for Roto, but will attach mask vertices to trackers for your purposes.

As to Particular, can you just paste tracker keyframes into the appropriate Particular position properties?

Both those suggestions are great, but let’s take it one step further. I can certainly create a organic blob with either of those suggestions, now how do I get a particle effect to work with this? No I can’t apply tracker keyframes as particular does not have a destination property.

Right, it doesn’t, but it has a “emitter position” property which you can animate with keyframes…
