Is there a way to convert an mp3 narration track to aiff in itunes without burning it to CD?

I’m often given audio tracks like this and my typical workflow is to convert it in i-tunes and then burn an audio CD and import that into FCP. But I’ve seen other editors do the same without burning a cd.

Sorry for such a basic question.

You can just change the settings in iTunes to make an AIFF when you export.

I actually use Quicktime Pro for this. Open the file in Quicktime, Export > Audio to AIFF, make sure it’s set to 48khz and go.
