Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Active Windows

Have been encountering a weird problem. When trying to reconnect media to offline clips, I get the normal grey Reconnect Files window and then when it does its search of my drives and then brings up the normal os finder window, IF you so happen to not be in Final Cut Pro when this window comes up (when the computer is searching thru terrabytes of files, I can go into mail and answer emails or after effects to continue working etc, and of course… a simple fix is not to do those things, so don’t even suggest it) and you then go back into FCP to continue on, it selects the gray window above the finder window and then you have no choice but to force quit FCP as no commands, no hitting cancel, okay or any of the other windows come into play because, even though I can select either of the open windows, none of the buttons are active.

This is relatively new issue as I have only experienced it in the latest version of FCP.

Any suggestions? if of course any one knows what the hell I mean.

    Cheers

I understand your post because I’ve had it happen too!

Yes, it’s recent for me as well. I’m assuming it was introduced in a recent update.

As of now, I have no solution.

    Hi
With older versions of FCP clicking/double-clicking on the FCP dock icon brought it back to life.
