  • Software Update Doesn’t “See” FCP 6 or Compressor 3.0 ?

Posted by Ian Brown on June 11, 2008 at 12:54 pm

I have installed Final Cut Studio 2 on my new 2.8GHz iMac (OSX 10.5.2).

Software Update “sees” and has updates for all the applications but not FCP 6.0 or Compressor 3.0.

How can I make them “visible” as I had no problems updating on a G5 iMac.

Some Pro Apps updates are tied to QT or other updates and only show up in the updater after the other updates are installed. Keep running the updater until you get a message telling you that your software is up to date.

Thanks David, I will try that.

QT can be updated to 7.5, however, there are over a dozen other items, apparently nothing to do with the OS and belonging to apps I do not use but amounting to hundreds of megabytes.

Obviously I don’t want to update them especially as I have a very slow broadband connection and also a monthly limit.

I will try QT and if that doesn’t cure it I will consider going from OSX 10.5.2 to 10.5.3.

    Thanks again.

    Ian.
