Only slightly facetious. I’m actually hoping to have this explained top me so I can explain it to some other folks

Why can’t I use my 8 (or 16 or 64) gig Compact Flash cards (from my Nikons) and a Firewire interface to capture and edit DV?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

The really bad thing about flash media, David, is that they come in different speeds. Ok, great. The problem is that the speeds aren’t often advertised along with the product.

If you ask me, that’s why more people haven’t gotten into this. There’s so much trial-and-error involved which isn’t too cost-effective.
