I am trying to import tape from a DVCPro deck into final cut pro suite 1, I have used this deck and computer successfully before, however this time when I try to import the imported video looks as if it is going frame by frame except each frame seems to be about a second apart. I have the correct settings on the deck and I have Easy Set Up set for DV-NTSC. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

This is supposed to be done ASAP so please help soon.

    Thanks,
    -Colin

    Hi,
I think I’m having the same problem. When I ingest material from DV tape, the audio jumps around, is very glitchy and sounds like it wants to play a a different speed. I’ve uploaded an example here: https://web.mac.com/sgrossmith/fcp/problem.html

If anyone had any ideas, please let me know.

    Thanks.

I figured out my problem which might help you though they look to me as different problems. My problem was that my capture was set to a USB 2.0 drive that was not fast enough to capture video to. It can edit video fine just it can’t import, so I imported to my internal HD and then dragged and dropped to the external. Everything works now.

    Hope that helps.
