Sony HDR and FCP
Does anyone know how to capture AVCHD footage from a Sony HDR-SR10E into Final cut using a USB2 cable. It works in i-movie, but not in Final cut studio. any ideas gratefully received!!

Yes I’ve tried log and capture but I can’t get the mac to see a USB device and I’ve tried import the files but FCP doesn’t recognise the file type…

No dude…Log and TRANSFER. Log and CAPTURE is for tape based formats. Log and TRANSFER is for tapeless formats, like AVCHD.
In the Log and Transfer Prefs (little sprocket menu in upper left) gives you the choice to import as AIC or ProRes.

Sony HDR-SR10 has a FW connection.
