  HD MPEG2???

  Hi guys,
  I’ve got a documentary series shot (mostly) in HDV, I’m preparing it for a premiere and subsequent screening at a small cinema that will run a season of it.
  Where I’m a bit stuck is… They require MPEG2 video compression with MPEG1 layer 2 audio to play back on their digital projector.
  The file extension MUST be .mpg
  Have I completely missed something or is there hardly any software package out there that will compress mpeg 2 video into an actual mpeg file wrapper?
  Compressor seems to only compress to m2v, a premuxed DVD format.
  Is there a setting I’ve missed in compressor or alternatively does anyone know of software that will compress to the cinema’s tech requirements?

  Compressed will make a Program Stream – although I have found that some applications don’t like it for some reason (Adobe Encore is one).

  Under ‘Extras’ in the MPEG-2 settings, there is a checkbox for ‘Multiplexed MPEG-1/Layer 2 Audio’ – tick that and select ‘Program Stream’ and you get in the ball park.
