  • FCP crashes when deleting clip

    Hi all.

Something funky is going on… final project (approx 2 hr 41 min) has 1 sec 6 frames of nested audio that needs to be removed.

When I try to delete or overwrite the nested audio, FCP freezes up (spinning beach ball of death) and I have to force quit.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can recapture… but how do I go about deleting the nested sequence?

I can even delete the original sequence from the browser, but the “place marker” (I don’t know what else to call it) of the nested sequence that appears in the final timeline still remains.

Or… do you think that recapturing the original footage might allow me to then delete the nested clip in the timeline?

Try taking the nest offline (shift D) select leave on disc. Move that file somewhere else just in case. Select offline clip and select batch capture.
